WE'RE STILL ON THE GO!

Catching my breath today!  Since the "Hair Balloons" post in late June we have covered a bit of ground.

Visited with Nathan and Colleen and the girlos in Twin Falls for the 4th of July.  From there we went to Boise to spend some time with my step-mom and extended family.  Then back to Twin Falls for a few days to see N & C again as well as Victor's sister Elaine and husband Jim who were in town from Oregon to babysit their grandkids while daughter Diane and husband David took a much-needed cruise to Alaska.  Had a couple of great visits with them.  (Some of our favorite people).    V & I also took a day trip to Hailey Idaho where I did some genealogy research on a Forsgren question.  Had lunch in Sun Valley before coming on back to Twin.

From Twin Falls we headed to Chubbock (CHUBBOCK??  Where's THAT???  - by Pocatello, Idaho, sillies!) where we spent two delightful nights with my BYU roommate Sandra Tegland in her beautiful new home.  Played games, hung out, & visited Victor's cousin Theron Stokes whom we had not seen in many years.

Saturday, July 19th we left green and cloudy Pocatello behind en route to Salt Lake.  Arrived in time to have a famous and wonderful hamburger at the Hires Drive Inn did a bit of grocery shopping then headed up the Canyon to Brighton Ski Resort for my nephew Michael Morgan's wedding to Denise Jones.   Beautiful setting and wonderful reunion with many other family members from my sister Julene's side.   Mike and Denise are so great together.  He is in medical school;  she is a genetic biologist.  Wowser.  They just look like common ordinary folk to me!

I managed to eat too rich a dessert on top of the Tucano's-catered wedding dinner and got violently sick to my stomach.  I made a quick exit after acting like a one year old and throwing up all over myself!  YUK!  Who DOES that?    Victor lent me the shirt off his back and we left Brighton behind and headed on down to our cabin.   So good to see the place again, especially after a refreshing rain which had just fallen to greet our midnite arrival.  A night's rest fixed what ailed me.

Sunday Step-brother Steve Hunt arrived with more relatives (also coming from the wedding).  My step-mom, Steve and Nancy, daughter Emily Davis and her family (husband Brian - the opera singer - daughter Sarah - who looks like Drew Barrymore, & son Austin.  To round out the group was Alex - my sister Elaine's son who came to have fun with Austin.   (And yes, they did have fun!   Two ADHD boys who squealed and ran around all over the place and did all the normal things crazy 11 yr. old boys do!)   We had a wonderful visit:  Lots of good talks out on the deck after bounteous evening meals.   How I love my extended family.   Such good people.    And my sweet little 91 year old step-mom got on the ATV behind Steve and had a wonderful time!   Hope I am that brave at 91.  She's a trooper!

We leave tomorrow for Vegas for two days then will return to Utah to continue the "going."   (First the genealogy conference at BYU and then back to the cabin for "Cousin Camp"  (How much organized activity can you do with 6 children under 5?    We'll see!)    The glorious part is having them all under the same roof - along with MY wonderful children and their spouses.   After cousin camp we are off to Brigham City again for the Forsgren Reunion, 3 days of R & R at Zermatt Resort in Midway, a reunion with Chilean Senior Missionaries, two more days at the cabin and then home to Vegas.     Whew!

Here are some miscellaneous photos from the past month.   Enjoy!

The wildflowers near the cabin have been glorious this year!!

Making the 4th of July Cheesecake.  Nummy!

Took Noelle a while to warm up to the idea of holding spitting fire in her hands!

Mommies make new experiences secure

Some of the ski runs in Sun Valley.  The place doesn't look ANYTHING like I remember it from when I was last there as a young child!   Beautiful... in a cultivated sort of way.  Just as busy in the summer with tourists as it must be in the winter.

Newlyweds Mike & Denise Jones Morgan
(Does he look 30 to you???)

Grand nieces Morgan and Brooklyn Miller were flower girls
(Granddaughters of my sister Julene.  Their mother is Emily - sister of the groom)

Ring bearer was nephew Alex - son of my sister Elaine.  He looked so "not 11" in his suit.  Did a good job of the task at hand!   He and cousins Morgan and Brooklyn are best friends.
