Hi! I am Adele Manwaring Austin - a Boise, Idaho native. Typical Mormon lady and mom, compassionate, thoughtful, security conscious (I like my comfort zones). I am a streams and mountains girl (as opposed to my California-born husband who is sun and oceans). Appreciate nature, well-written literature, realistic fine art, musical theater and the cooking channel.
Religious, steadfast. Served an LDS mission to Guatemala as a single young woman (1966-1968) and another to Chile as a Senior missionary with my husband (2006-2007).
Feel we have LOTS of wonderful, interesting and quirky friends who also like to travel, discuss the world's problems & play games.
Career? I am (was) a librarian from High School till I married and became a mom. Always and foremost I am a genealogist. I love the thrill of the hunt. I love to learn about family history, I love to teach family history and especially- I love to use all the wonderful on-line sources that are available to us in this amazing electronic age!
I am the Archivist for the John Olaf Forsgren Family Association (my mother's Swedish side of the ancestry) but also love doing the British research for my Manwaring/Wilkins/Bird/Whiting relatives on my Dad's side.
Now, in our retired years, my other career is being a grandmother, traveling, trying to downsize an over-large house & preparing my husband all the meals he delights in (and requests).
This is the picture I like so I am going to pretend it is me in 2012.

Adele, I came across you other blog on Peter Forsgren and descendants. I was looking for info on Alfrieda, but couldn't readily find any. Love the blog and all the work you have put into it. Amazing. I am Fred Forsgren's granddaughter and have some photos and docs I could send you (once I find them). If you are interested, my email is paurry@msn.com. Also wondering if you have a link to a post about Alfrieda?
