Three little grandkids and tiny friend Annabell Hymer sat on the blanket wide eyed as Smokey the Bear lay just feet away from us, flat and huge... The fan was turned on. He began to swell and within minutes was inflated with heat and began to rise, smiling and as familiar to me as many things from my youth. How lucky we were to have arrived at the Hot Air Balloon launch site in Panguitch early enough to watch each balloon up close and personal. This is still a highlight of our year! Alyssa and Peter had the experience for the first time as did Becky's friend Kennedy Hymer with her daughter Annabell. There is just something so thrilling about seeing those colors, vibrant and alive with the glorious rising sun.

The Balloon Rally was only one of many fun, family-shared experiences for the week.
ATVing, "swimming", hikes, good food, bubble blowing, a little whittling, good chats
